Born at Apam in 1947, Madam Doris Belinda Arkorful attended the Kade Presbyterian Primary and Middle Schools, and on successful completion, proceeded to Komenda Teacher Training College where she obtained the Teachers’ Certificate ‘A’. After teaching for a few years, she proceeded to the Winneba Specialist College to do a specialist course in Education.
Madam Arkorful, now Managing Director of Linda Dor Enterprises Limited developed the love for business while in College. She sold materials to fellow students on credit. She continued with this kind of trading during her teaching days and subsequently opened two shops in Koforidua dealing in fabrics and garments.
Upon reflection during her teaching days, madam Arkorful realized that there was no restaurant in Koforidua so she decided to establish one. In 1976 she started the catering and restaurant business at the popular
“Castle Bridge Hotel” in Koforidua.
This humble beginning has grown to become what is now known as Linda Dor Enterprises Limited. It has three branches at Koforidua namely, Main Linda, at the Headquarters, Linda Dor Annex at Ghana Post Company Koforidua and Leesco Restaurant on the SIC premises. On account of Linda Dor, Madam Arkorful set up the Asiakwa SOS Rest Stop which was re-located to a modern multi-purposebuilt Highway Rest Stop, with exquisite convenience facilities, at Bunso Junction.
Madam Arkorful has been a giant in the growth and development of the tourist industry in the Eastern Region
and indeed the country as a whole over the past 30 years. Madam Arkorful’s success is attributed to hard work and the principle of not comprising on quality and service delivery.
