Kwame Ofosu Bamfo (Wetso Matse Award – Philanthropist)

The industrialist, KWAME OFOSU BAMFO, a native of Obomeng Kwahu was born in 1955. He is the Managing Director of the following companies – Bamson Company Limited, local Representatives of Akzo Nobel Sikkens of Netherlands, Glostal Aluminium Systems Limited. and the Alisa Hotel Ltd. His companies currently employ over 600 people. In recognition of his contribution to the field of commerce, as well growth of the economy, he won the Small and Medium Scale Enterprise (SME) Business Personality of the year Award, in 2016. Price
Waterhouse Coopers also honoured him, as the Eighth (8th) Most Respected CEO (Ghana) in the year 2007 /
2008. At the age of 36, Mr. Bamfo won the Marketing Personality of the Year Award by the Chartered Institute
of Marketing (Ghana); and his Company, Bamson Company Limited was adjudged the Marketing Oriented Organization for the same year (1991) by the Institute. In 1996, he won the Head of State National Good Corporate Citizen Award in General Trading, and in 1999 was honoured with the Millennium Excellence
Award in Industrial Development. In the same year, he was honoured by Akzo Nobel Sikkens B.V. of Holland
for outstanding Sales Performance in the Africa Region. He is also a Member of the Association of Ghana
Industries (AGI) and a Fellow of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Mr.
Kwame Ofosu Bamfo is the past Chairman of Okwahu United Football Club and has been a Board Member for
the past 15 years.

Currently he is a Patron of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), an Honorary Life
member of the Ghana Olympic Committee. He was also a member of the Local Organizing Committee of the
2008 African Cup of Nations which was hosted by Ghana. Since 2011, Mr. Kwame Ofosu Bamfo has been a
member of the Black Stars Management Committee.For his exemplary, patriotic and selfless services and
general contributions to the development of Kwahuman, the Kwahuman Traditional Council in collaboration with the Okwahu Youngsters Club has honoured him with the title “Oseadeeyo”. As staunch believer in the power of education, he has also set up the Sikkens Education Trust in 2002, which continues to offer scholarships to needy children in the Kwahu and Afram Plains Districts.
