Honourable Boakye Agyarko was born in the year 1956 in Kumasi, Ashanti Region. The renowned Economist, Banker, Diplomat and remarkable Politician is a product of K.O. Methodist School – Kumasi, KNUST Primary School, Kumasi; Mfantsipim School, Cape Coast; University of Ghana, Accra; and Pace University – New York.
Honourable Agyarko’s political career began at a very tender age, serving as the National Coordinator for the
Ghana United Nations Students and Youth Association (GUNSA), from 1979 to 1980. He was responsible for
organizing nation-wide educational programmes, seminars and conferences for the members of the
association on topical world issues; liaising between GUNSA and other non-governmental organizations,
government departments and ministries; as well as general administration of the Association’s offices.
In 1984, he emigrated to the United States as a political refugee, where he enrolled at the Pace University, New
York. After graduating, he got employed at the Oldest Bank of the United States, Bank of New York, where he
rose through the ranks to become the Vice president of the E. A. K. Kalitsi Award – Energy . Hon. Boakye Adjarko -year career at the Bank of New York, he served on various teams in many transactions, such as the setting up of the Bank of New York in Mexico. In the year 2012, during the electioneering campaign in Ghana, he served as the National Campaign Manager for the New Patriotic Party. And also, during the 2016 electioneering campaign, he was appointed as the Policy Advisor to the then NPP Presidential Candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Until recently, hewas the Ministerof Energy forthe republic of Ghana.
